Surbana Jurong, Mitsubishi Corp, and Sinar Mas Land join up to develop 108-ha Jakarta mixed-use development


Mitbana, a joint-venture business of Surbana Jurong and Mitsubishi Corp, is partnering Indonesian developer Sinar Mas Land to establish one of the biggest mixed-use projects in BSD City in Greater Jakarta, Indonesia.

The project is called Hiera, a name stemmed from the Japanese characters for “peace and harmony”. According to the developers, the label describes the design motivation for all of the project, “balancing an active metropolitan way of living with alternative wellness for its homeowners”.

The design will likely include aspects of biophilic layout, for example, a selection of beachfront and eco-friendly spaces throughout the advancement. A 3.7km-long green loop will connect to mass transit nodes inside of Hiera, which include the Jatake Train Terminal and a combined transportation centre with park-and-ride spaces and a shuttle service.

The 108ha venture features non commercial plus transit-oriented projects, and it will most likely be helmed by Sinar Mitbana Mas, the joint-venture company somewhere between Mitbana and Sinar Mas Land.
